About Us
First of all, WELCOME to our website!
We want to thank ALL of you who are visiting the Beanteacher.com website for the first time, as well as, ALL of our new friends who visit on a regular basis. We've met some really GREAT people from all over the world and look forward to meeting many more in the future. The internet makes the world seem just a tad smaller.
By day, I'm a middle-school teacher in Southern California (that explains the "Teacher" part, anyway.....). As for the "Bean" part, let's start from the very beginning.....
Where the Bean Came From
It all started as a gift...I received "Echo", a dolphin Beanie Baby, as a gift from my husband. I love dolphins (I'm sure you can tell)! I put him aside and realized months later...Beanies Rule the World! I began checking out the Beanie books, magazines and websites - I had to have them ALL. And now, I have way too many to mention. They quickly took over my house and my life. If you'd like to ADOPT one or two, please email. Soon, I began buying and selling Beanies and other plush toys on auction sites like Ebay.....that's where I came up with the handle "bean-teacher".
Soon, I began catching ALOHA fever!! Oh, my! I now buy and sell a piece of paradise - Hawaiian Aloha Shirts. My husband was born and raised on Oahu, so we travel back to the Hawaiian Islands often and return with several hundred Aloha Shirts at any given time. We now have customers from all over the United States, and around the world, including Canada, Great Britain (Hello Ian!), the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia. And yes, we even have a valued set of regular customers from Hawaii as well!

Soon, my Ebay customers began asking me about my "website", and wanted to know about my other merchandise. So, based on customer input, my husband and I embarked on the road to "E-commerce", and opened the Beanteacher.com website in August of 2001 after several months of preparation. We're continuing to expand our offerings, so please excuse some of the construction going on. However, when we are fully stocked, we plan on offering New Brand Name Hawaiian Shirts, Vintage Shirts, Bowling Shirts, Hawaii-themed gift items, plush toys, and of course…Beanies.
